Two people and two cultures collide. In the spring of 2009 I decided to quit my 9to5 and strike out on my own as a communications consultant. I received huge support from my family, friends, and network.
Before I was ready to hit the pavement and prospect clients I decided to take a break and venture to Europe. Paris to be precise. The first night I landed in Paris, I met my future husband. We continued to communicate for the next month as I had a planned trip that needed attending.
After my trip came to an end I decided to return to Paris to see if this man was the love of my life. He picked me up at the airport, and well, as they say, the rest is history.
We lived together in Paris that summer. My mom came to visit and essentially gave us her blessing. He proposed in front of the Eiffel Tower and I said YES! Fast forward to our wedding in EGYPT!
My husband is originally from Egypt. We wanted to meet the family and have our grand royal wedding there ;)
Life got serious quickly. We planned to go through the Canadian immigration process. That was the only way my husband and I could return to Canada to meet family and friends and contemplate a life there. In the meantime, I lived with him in Egypt. I recorded our daily ventures and frustrations you can read them on this site or my older blog here.
We arrived in Canada on September 30, 2010. Our life of cultures and language mixing is not over, and it never will be. It has been fascinating and it is an evolving experience.
Tune in to our everyday adventures here!
I love this! Life is indeed an adventure every single day. Awesome.
